Personal effectiveness

CelebratingS Few of us like to say we are ineffective.  However, we may admit that there are areas  of our lives, both at work and outside, where we can improve or develop our skills. Most of us can identify some ways of improving our personal effectiveness.

We have grouped the areas we cover in personal development under 3 headings and can help in each of them:

Personal organisation

This is primarily about managing yourself and your time, or time management - though rather differently!   You may find our approach rather challenging as we do make you look at yourself, and take responsibility for your choices!!  We believe that if you are able to take more ownership for the way you spend your time (both in and out of work) you can have a more satisfying and balanced life.

Communication

This might be looking at the basic principles of communication or how to make presentations.  We do not have one stand-alone approach to this as your needs will be specific to your organisation.  We think that most people can benefit from paying attention to their communication skills as most problems have some roots in poor or miscommunication.

Influence

"To produce an effect in an imperceptible or intangible way" is one definition.  A key skill for good managers and leaders - and everyone can benefit from improving their skills in this area!  Better influencing skills can result in fewer disagreements and arguements and a more constructive approach to difficult situations and conflict.  We all need influencing skills with friends, family, colleagues, suppliers and customers.
